Jazz & Fusion
In my jazz compositions, I am exploring different approaches of composition
and improvisation through incorporating special instruments in the traditional rhythm section, like the violin, or charango. I am focusing on a balance of functional and non functional harmonies, groove, colors, and especially the
beauty of odd meters. I am approaching the genres of modern jazz and world music.
Songwriting
Album - Foreign Scents (March 2020)
I traveled through England, Spain, and South America with my ukulele in tow, writing songs along the way. All the things I saw on my trip and the people I met are the melodies that inspired me. I want to share these impressions -
and the best way to do that is through music.
I started playing the violin when I was eight years old. Later I added the guitar, ukulele and charango, a South American instrument. Each instrument has its own unique sound and therefore a completely individual style. That is what makes music so exciting for me, I can mix different timbres and styles to create a completely new sound.
My songs are about escape, freedom, growth, homesickness and, love.
The name of the album Foreign Scents appears in the lyrics of my song Home and for me it best describes traveling, discovering something new and the beauty that lies within it.
